At the second ceremony for awarding the Knowledge Excellence Medal, Dr. Mohammad Reza Hafezi, an architecture professor at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) and designer of Milad Tower in Tehran, received the Knowledge Excellence Medal.
The second ceremony for awarding the Knowledge Excellence Medal was held on Monday, June 24, 2024, in the presence of Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, IRI Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.
The Knowledge Excellence Medal is a special joint award between the University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences. It is awarded annually in six groups and scientific branches to Iranian and non-Iranian scientists and professors with scientific authority who have effective cooperation with Iranian researchers and scientific centers and institutions in Iran.
The qualification review process for the Knowledge Excellence Medal candidates includes 11 criteria in the academic and professional records of the professors, such as “having innovative scientific and research contributions at the national and international levels at the frontiers of knowledge,” “social impact,” “having innovative scientific and research contributions at the national and international levels and creating a new wave,” “having a major international award in scientific and research fields in the selected professor’s specialty,” “having national and global fame in their specialty,” “having scientific and research contributions towards achieving the goals of humanities,” “having contributions towards the development of knowledge-based companies,” “entrepreneurship at the national level, nurturing and guiding students to the extent that they become faculty members,” and “having a refined, mature personality with a scientific stature aligned with the Islamic Republic system.”
