Innovation Centre

Objectives:

  • Strengthening a culture of entrepreneurship in the faculty, taking advantage of potentials of both students and faculty members.
  • Creating grounds for spotting entrepreneurial opportunities.
  • Institutionalising entrepreneurship in line with national innovation ecosystem.
  • Studying and analysing construction industry needs in order to eventually achieving creative solutions through students’ and faculty members’ contribution.
  • Creating grounds for interactions between idea owners with other sectors and commercialisation systems related to science and technology parks.
  • Developing new technologies in architecture towards technological products.
  • Institutionalising extra-curricular scientific, research entrepreneurial, and group activities among students.
  • Attracting outstanding students from all stages of their study, taking advantage from their collaboration and competition in order to improve the University’s entrepreneurial atmosphere.
  • Attracting young faculty members to conduct and consult students to develop their ideas and improve their group work.
  • Facilitating connections between students with graduates in public and private sectors.
  • Offering teaching and consultation services to idea makers with a view to create science-based businesses.
  • Familiarising Bachelor’s students at the outset with technology-based businesses and the market for them.
  • Familiarising students with successful entrepreneurs in construction industry through the Faculty graduates in the country and abroad.

Operational Plans for the Centre:

  • Launching a market research centre for construction industry in collaboration with the Faculty’s Research Deputy
  • Creating appropriate communication channels for interactions with various actors in the Iranian innovation ecosystem
  • Helping to achieve a better understanding of industry needs and realistic formation of ideas
  • Attracting faculty members
  • Attracting science-based companies
  • Launching the Centre’s website in order to introduce construction industry needs
  • Launching a student association for communicating with the industry
